Activity #1: The search engines \that I tried that I had never heard of were www.toseeka.com, www.hotbot.com, and www.altavista.com.The first two search engines were too overwhelming for me. The page had too much information in various style and size of font. They were functional but a little unpredictable.I really liked altavista because of its simple, user friendly format.

Activity #2: When searching with quotations, I found that when didn't use quotation marks, I had web sites in my results that had the words in my phrase, but not together. So when I searched for renewable resources, they gave me sites that contain the words renewable and resources, but not the specific phrase renewable resource. When I used quotations, the results were much more specific to this phrase.

Activity #3: I love boolean logic! I especially loved the puzzle pieces on www.boolify.org. I am visual learner, and this helped me learn how to construct a concise search in an effective way.

Activity #4: I had always wondered who owned www.ebay.com. I found that it is owned by a company called MarkMonitor Brand Protection. I think this is a great tool.

Activity #8: I didn't care much for the google calculator, but I loved the book search, synonym search, unit conversion, and movie showtimes. I will definitely utilize these tools now that I am aware of them.

Activity #9 and #10: I shared what I learned about in this section of the module with my best friend, a kindergarten teacher, and she was thrilled to find out about tools that she can use that are time efficient when searching for resources. I also shared with my husband, and he was really excited about the unit conversion tool. He always does this by hand or in his head. He was excited to be able to get the answer so quickly.
